The United States wants to reopen its embassy in Minsk and finally normalize relations with Belarus, US President Donald Trump's spokesman John Cole said after a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
"The goal of our cooperation is to normalize bilateral relations between Belarus and the United States. One of the main goals is to do everything to expand and strengthen economic and political cooperation between our countries," he said.
He called current relations between Belarus and the United States good, but not excellent.
"There is still much that can be done to normalize relations in the future. We want to reopen our embassy; we want economic relations and trade between our countries to develop. We are ready to do everything to normalize our relations finally," the US president's spokesman said.
