NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said Polish F-16s, Dutch F-35s, Italian AWXs, NATO multi-role transport aircraft, and German Patriots repelled the Russian drone attack overnight.
“What we saw last night was very successful. Of course, we always have to be one step ahead, but I think last night showed that we are capable of defending every inch of NATO territory.”
Rutte, however, did not assess whether the incident was accidental or deliberate, calling it “an absolutely reckless decision.”
