This is a signal from Israel that the mediators will become scapegoats. Qatari Foreign Ministry Spokesperson

Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid al-Ansari told Al Jazeera that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu had “sent an obvious signal to all countries involved in peace efforts that the mediators will be scapegoated, will not feel safe, and will not be respected for the sanctity of their work.”

Al-Ansari described Israel’s attacks not only as a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, but also as an attack on international norms and humanitarian law, which are the foundation of the order established after World War II.

“But this will not prevent Qatar from remaining a country that seeks peace,” he noted.

“His Excellency the Emir of Qatar has made it clear that this attack will not go unanswered, and we will take all legal and diplomatic measures in response,” Al-Ansari stressed, adding that Netanyahu “has shown absolutely no respect for either his partners and allies, or even friends and adversaries.”

“We want to make it clear that within the framework of our partnership with the United States, we take seriously the fact that Israel may carry out such attacks, and we are working with the United States to ensure that such incursions never happen again,” he added.
