Al Ikhbariya TV channel reports that a delegation led by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has arrived in Damascus.
Novak is accompanied by Construction Minister Irek Fayzulin, Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, and Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin.
The delegation was received by the Chief of Staff of the Syrian President, Maher al-Sharaa.
According to the Syrian SANA agency, representatives of the Russian side will hold talks with several Syrian officials on economic, security, defense, and political cooperation issues.
