Houthi leader killed in Israeli airstrike

Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, according to several reputable media outlets.

The source said the airstrike was carried out by Israeli fighter jets on a house in the Hadd region. Four people were killed, including the prime minister and several of his associates.

The Ansar Allah movement is preparing to announce his death officially. Rahawi was appointed head of the Houthi government on August 10, 2024.

He was killed a day after the Ansar Allah movement reported an attack on Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv with a Palestine-2 hypersonic missile. The day before, Israel carried out 12 airstrikes on Ansar Allah positions in Sanaa.
