Attacks on Russian refineries will accelerate inflation. ISW

The recent Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries have contributed to a gasoline shortage across Russia, which is likely to lead to inflation and macroeconomic instability in the country. Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) note that the issue has already been raised by military correspondents, highlighting the poor performance of air defense and the consequences of the strikes, including increased gasoline prices that citizens are already feeling.

Strikes on objects deep in the rear are one of the most painful topics for Russia, and at the same time, undermine the authorities' confidence in their ability to protect critical infrastructure.

"The Russian information space accuses the Russian leadership of failing to protect Russian military infrastructure from strikes by Ukrainian drones during Russia's large-scale invasion. "Ukrainian long-range drone strikes continue to put pressure on this sore spot," the report says.
