The foreign ministers of the three European countries - the UK, France, and Germany - and the EU foreign policy chief informed Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi today of their intention to formally notify the UN Security Council of the activation of the so-called dispute settlement mechanism under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), IRNA reported.
At the same time, they stressed their readiness to find a diplomatic solution within the next 30 days to resolve the issues and prevent the resumption of Security Council sanctions.
The Iranian foreign minister described the actions of the three European countries as unfounded, unlawful, and lacking any legal basis. Araghchi recalled Iran's "responsible and goodwill approach to pursuing diplomacy to resolve issues related to the nuclear issue."
He stressed that "the Islamic Republic of Iran will respond appropriately to these illegal and groundless actions of the three European countries to protect and secure its national rights and interests."
