"3+3" has stood the test of time. Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson

The official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmaeil Baghaei, touched upon the future role of the "3+3" mechanism.

"The '3+3' format in the South Caucasus has its own history and was created to hold consultations between the countries of the region, including Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the countries adjacent to the South Caucasus.

To date, several meetings have been held in different countries, and one of the first meetings was held in Tehran.

This mechanism has already stood the test of time as a regional organization that contributes to the settlement of disputes between the countries of the region, especially Azerbaijan and Armenia," he said.

According to him, regardless of the developments taking place outside the region, in terms of the settlement of issues in the South Caucasus, today, more than ever, the countries of the region have concluded that these mechanisms should remain active. "It is necessary to make efforts to increase their effectiveness to resolve disputes and prevent interference by entities outside the region."
