Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev said that the joint statement signed in Washington enshrined the importance of opening communication channels between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
He stressed that ensuring unhindered communication with Nakhichevan is of strategic importance for Azerbaijan.
According to him, the new corridor passing through Zangezur, which is essential for the connection between Europe and Asia, will stimulate economic growth; it is also a high-capacity alternative to existing routes.
Mustafayev noted that the opening of communication channels is a historic opportunity for the region, which contributes not only to communication but also to the formation of trust between states.
