The Russian delegation paid cash for fuel in Alaska

Russian President Vladimir Putin's delegation, which arrived in Alaska for high-level talks with US President Donald Trump, was forced to pay in cash for jet fuel due to the inability to use the US banking system, Secretary of State Marco Rubio told NBC.

The Russian presidential air fleet usually consists of three aircraft, and according to NBC, fuel for just one long flight can cost about $ 85,000, which means hundreds of thousands of dollars for the entire delegation.

Despite these restrictions, Rubio stressed that the sanctions have not been able to change the course of the war in Ukraine, but, he said, they continue to be used for their intended purpose.

Members of the delegation and Russian journalists accompanying them also reported that they were unable to use local mobile networks and their bank cards in the United States.
