French President Emmanuel Macron had a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The French leader reported this in a lengthy post on his X page.
The parties discussed the meeting between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, which took place under the auspices of Donald Trump.
“We also touched on the hope that arose from the meeting between Armenia and Azerbaijan on August 8 under the auspices of President Trump. It is important that progress continues and allows for the reopening of all borders and strengthening regional cooperation,” the French president wrote.
The parties also discussed the situation around Ukraine, as well as the commitments and initiatives taken by the parties in the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian issue.
