The meeting between Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky, which Donald Trump announced after the summit in Washington, may take place in Hungary. Reuters reports, citing an unnamed senior White House official.

Hungary was previously considered one of the possible venues for the Trump-Putin meeting, which eventually took place in Alaska. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is close to both the US and Russian presidents, CNN reported.

In addition, in April, the country announced its withdrawal from the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court, which had issued an arrest warrant for Putin.
