Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that Iran has always defended the territorial integrity of Armenia and is against any use of force in the region.
According to him, the leadership of the region should be Caucasian, and the transfer of problems to extra-regional states complicates the situation even more.
“For Iran, peace in the Caucasus is a strategic priority, and we support peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Iran’s position has been on the inviolability of borders in the Caucasus, and we believe that they can become a cause of geopolitical competition.”
