The United States is ready to impose severe economic sanctions on Russia if the parties do not reach an agreement on the Ukraine issue, US President Donald Trump said in a conversation with reporters on the plane before leaving for Alaska.
"It will be tough economically, very tough. I'm not doing this for myself. I'm doing this to save lives," Trump said.
The US president also noted that business projects with the Russian side will not be done until the war is resolved.
"I noticed that he brings business people from Russia, and that's good. I like that. They want to do business, but we won't do it until we resolve the war," he added.
