Negotiations between Trump and Putin have begun in Alaska.
The presidents of Russia and the United States have begun negotiations at the Elmendorf-Richardson military base in Anchorage.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff represent the American side. In contrast, the Russian side is represented by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov.
The expanded consultations will be held later.
