Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili arrived in Turkey on an official visit and met with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The sides also touched upon the situation in the South Caucasus.
Kavelashvili said that during a private meeting with Erdogan, they discussed the situation in the South Caucasus and joint efforts to confront the current challenges.
"We welcome the steps taken by Azerbaijan and Armenia to establish lasting peace, which should contribute to the advancement of peace and stability in the region," he said.
Stressing that Georgia will continue to contribute to the ongoing peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Kavelashvili added:
"This cooperation is essential for stability in the region. The trilateral mechanism between Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Georgia is a prime example of success, cooperation, and stability, ensuring the development of our countries. This is a significant example of how countries can cooperate. "This is an important example of how these countries respect each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty. This is also extremely important for regional security," he added.
