Zelensky has softened his position. Telegraph

Zelensky has softened his position: he is ready to cede already occupied territories to Russia, but only in exchange for weapons supplies and "membership in NATO," writes The Daily Telegraph.

Before the meeting of Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, European leaders held talks with Ukraine to agree on a standard position and develop their proposal for a ceasefire. Within the framework of this plan, Ukraine may decide to stop hostilities and cede territories already under Russian control, claims The Daily Telegraph. This means freezing the front line in its current form. At the same time, Russia failed to capture part of the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions, although these are fully included in its constitution as Russian territories.

However, Ukraine will agree to this option only on the condition of providing "reliable security guarantees" through weapons supplies and membership in NATO, writes the newspaper. Moscow has repeatedly made Ukraine's complete disarmament a condition for a ceasefire and has categorically rejected the possibility of its joining the alliance.
