Kobakhidze congratulated Armenia and Azerbaijan

I would like to congratulate our neighboring and friendly states, Azerbaijan and Armenia, on the peace agreement reached, which is very important, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in a conversation with reporters.

According to the Prime Minister, this agreement will contribute to the strengthening of peace and economic prosperity in our region, in the South Caucasus and Transcaucasia.

"This is fundamentally important. Naturally, we welcome the signing of this agreement. We have done everything possible to contribute to the signing of such an agreement with the resources available to us. Of course, we should thank President Trump. It was his leadership that ensured the signing of this agreement.

Finally, we need to strengthen our independence. Our neighboring states have the same approach: maximum freedom, maximum autonomy. This will contribute to the strengthening of both peace and prosperity in our region. Georgia continues to occupy a central place in the area. "Over the past 30 years, even though there has been a severe conflict between our two neighboring states, we have contributed to the consolidation of peace to the maximum. Our role in this has been highly appreciated by our friendly neighbors, Azerbaijan and Armenia. In the future, of course, we will do our best to ensure the consolidation of peace in the entire region together with our neighboring states. This is our mission in the region, where Georgia plays a vital role," Irakli Kobakhidze noted.
