The heat is intensifying again in Europe

In several regions of France, Spain, and Portugal, the air temperature has exceeded +40°C, with experts predicting the peak heat will occur on Monday and Tuesday. In France, an "orange" warning has been declared in 46 departments due to the heat, and in the southern regions, temperatures of up to +40°C and above are expected.

In southern Spain and the Canary Islands, the heat is being added by the hot wind from the Sahara, the calima, which reduces visibility and makes breathing difficult. A "red" warning has been declared in Tenerife. Fires in León and Jerez have forced the evacuation of dozens of people, also endangering the UNESCO monument Las Médulas.

Portugal, although it has brought the main fires under control, remains on high alert. "Red" and "orange" warnings remain in place in many regions, as fire services continue to battle new outbreaks, involving hundreds of firefighters and aerial equipment.
