The Greek Foreign Ministry issued a statement welcoming the agreements signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington.
“Greece welcomes the agreements announced between Armenia and Azerbaijan as a significant step towards ending the decades-long conflict in the South Caucasus.
We commend both sides and the US administration for making progress towards the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The signing and ratification of a final peace treaty between the two countries will be the next necessary step to ensure lasting peace and prosperity, with full respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity as a principle.”
