Pope Leo XIV has welcomed the signing of an agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington, Vatican News reports.
The Pope hopes that it will contribute to peace in the Caucasus.
“I congratulate Armenia and Azerbaijan on the signing of a joint peace agreement. I hope that this event can contribute to a stable and lasting peace in the South Caucasus,” the Pope said after Sunday’s Mass in St. Peter’s Square.
