The United States does not believe that contacts between Putin and Zelensky before the Russia-US summit will be productive, US Vice President J.D. Vance said.
He noted that the United States is committed to resolving the Ukraine issue.
“Putin said he would never sit down at the negotiating table with Zelensky, and Trump needs to change that. We are at the stage where we are planning when these three leaders can sit down and discuss ending the conflict,” he said.
Vance noted that the upcoming talks between Putin and Trump are a significant step forward for American diplomacy.
