The Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement, which reads:
The Islamic Republic of Iran is closely following the developments in the South Caucasus region. It is in contact with its neighboring countries, the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia.
Peace and stability in the Caucasus region are in the interests of all countries in the area. The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the finalization of the text of the peace agreement between the two countries. It considers this event an essential step towards achieving lasting peace in the region.
At the same time, Iran expresses concern about the negative consequences of external interference in any form and by any means, especially near common borders, which will undermine the security and lasting stability of the region.
Iran, emphasizing the importance of taking all political, legal and economic measures to ensure its national rights and interests, believes that the establishment of communication routes and the unblocking of transport networks will serve the stability, security and economic development of the states of the region when they are implemented within the framework of mutual interests, respect for the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the countries of the area and without external interference.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to continue constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation with both Azerbaijan and Armenia to ensure peace, stability, and economic development in the region, through bilateral and regional cooperation, including within the framework of the "3+3" mechanism.
