British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has called the Israeli government's decision to intensify its attacks on the Gaza Strip a mistake and called for an immediate review of the move.
In a statement following the approval by the Israeli Security Council of a new plan to occupy a city in the northern Gaza Strip, Starmer said that Israel's decision to intensify its attacks was wrong.
"We call for an immediate review. This step will not bring the conflict closer to an end or the release of hostages, but will only lead to more casualties," he said.
He stressed that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is worsening day by day, and Israeli prisoners are being held in appalling and inhumane conditions.
