Trump imposes another 25% tariff on goods imported from India

Trump has signed an executive order imposing an additional 25% tariff on goods imported from India. The order states that the extra tariff is due to the country’s direct or indirect import of Russian oil.

The White House said the tariffs will take effect on August 27.

India’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement calling the additional tariffs unfair, unjustified, and baseless.

“We reiterate that these actions are unfair, unjustified, and baseless. India will take all necessary action to protect its national interests,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
