Germany has moved fighter jets to Poland

Germany has deployed Eurofighter jets to Poland amid Russian military exercises in Belarus.

The jets have arrived at the Minsk-Mazowiecki air base. They will patrol the airspace and monitor Russian activity on the alliance’s eastern flank.

“This deployment is a clear signal of allied solidarity within NATO and a reliable means of deterring and protecting common airspace,” a German air force spokesman said.

The jets are being deployed to Poland by around 150 German servicemen. They complete the German military presence in Poland, which already includes two Patriot batteries and other Eurofighter jets.
