US President Donald Trump has signed orders imposing tariffs of between 10% and 41% on imports from 69 countries, territories, and the European Union.
They will take effect in seven days. The exception is Canada, for which they will take effect immediately.
In the case of Canada, Trump has increased tariffs from 25% to 35%. However, these tariffs do not apply to goods covered by the USMCA trade agreement between the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
The highest tariff, 41%, has been imposed on Syria, and 40% on Laos and Burma. The lowest tariff, 10%, has been imposed on the United Kingdom and its Falkland Islands.
The list published by the White House lists a 10% tariff for Brazil, although the previous day, Trump had signed an executive order imposing a 50% tariff on imports from that country.
