Russia has learned to circumvent sanctions, but US President Donald Trump will change his approach to hit countries that buy energy from him, Senator Lindsey Graham said.
“You don’t seem to realize that President Trump is changing the game and is preparing to impose tariffs on countries that buy your oil and gas to support your military machine. You may need to contact these countries soon to find out if they are taking this as lightly as you are,” the Republican senator wrote on his X page.
Graham is one of the authors of the program of severe restrictions on Russia. According to the initiative, if a country purchases fuel from Russia and does not help Ukraine, then a 500 percent tariff is imposed on its products in the United States. Among the possible candidates for tough sanctions, the senator mentioned India and China, suggesting that the tariff could be 100 percent.
