For the first time in history, the air temperature in Turkey reached +50.0°C

Levon Azizyan, Director of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center SNCO, reported that for the first time in the history of meteorological observations in Turkey, the air temperature has reached +50.0°C.

"On July 25, the highest air temperature in the history of meteorological observations was set in Turkey, a new national record. The thermometer reading at the Silopi (Şırnak province) meteorological station rose to +50.0°C."
