The European Union calls on China to influence Russia to stop its military aggression against Ukraine. This was stated by the President of the European Council, Antonio Tajani, during the EU-China summit on July 24, according to the European Council's service reports.
"We call on China, a permanent member of the UN Security Council, to use its influence on Russia to respect the UN Charter and stop its military aggression against Ukraine," he said.
The President of the European Council stated that the world is experiencing a period of global uncertainty, marked by economic instability, geopolitical tensions, and significant challenges facing humanity as a whole.
Recall that the EU countries approved the 18th package of sanctions against Russia the other day. The list includes 22 Russian and two Chinese banks. China has officially expressed dissatisfaction with the European Union.
