Russia and Ukraine to carry out a large-scale prisoner exchange

The agreement was announced by the heads of the Ukrainian and Russian delegations, Rustem Umerov and Vladimir Medinsky.

A member of the Ukrainian delegation, Sergey Kislitsa, explained that this is about the return of prisoners of war.

Medinsky confirmed the agreement on the exchange and added that this large-scale exchange will take place shortly.

“Continuing the exchange of prisoners of war, we have agreed that shortly an exchange of at least 1,200 prisoners of war will be carried out on each side,” he said.

The head of the Russian delegation also announced that Russia has offered to transfer a larger number of prisoners of war to Ukraine. In addition, Russia has offered to hand over to Ukraine another 3,000 bodies of deceased Ukrainian soldiers.
