According to sources in Al Hadath and Al Arabiya, security-related communication between the Syrian regime and Israel has resumed, with the direct participation of the United States and Turkey.
It is noted that Turkey and Syria are actively negotiating issues related to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), as well as religious groups operating within the country, the Druze and Alevis. In parallel, negotiations are also underway with Israel to establish mutual understanding.
According to Al Hadath, an Israeli delegation has traveled to Azerbaijan to conclude the negotiations, and the Suwayda issue is “on the way to a solution.”
The sources said that Damascus was surprised by Israel’s response to the recent clashes in Suwayda.
It is also noted that Israel has not committed to stopping strikes on Syrian territory and is demanding the creation of a demilitarized zone along the 1974 ceasefire line.
This zone, with a total area of 235 square kilometers, is approximately 80 kilometers long and ranges from 500 meters to 10 kilometers wide, lying along the line that separates the occupied Golan Heights from the rest of Syria.
