Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed in an exclusive interview with Fox News that Iran is not going to abandon its uranium enrichment program despite tough sanctions imposed by the United States and its allies.
“Uranium enrichment is an achievement of our scientists, and it is our national pride. It is essential for us,” Araghchi said.
According to him, Iran’s nuclear facilities were seriously damaged by US strikes last month. He did not elaborate on whether any enriched uranium remained after the strikes, but stressed that enrichment has been temporarily suspended.
Although Iran insists that it is not producing nuclear weapons, security experts warn that Tehran is close to making one. According to estimates, Iran could prepare one nuclear warhead within days, and several within weeks.
