The corridor is vital, but it should not become a cause for tension: Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that "the Zangezur corridor will benefit not only Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey, but also other countries in the region."

According to him, the project's implementation could serve as a significant catalyst for regional cooperation. "We consider this corridor to be vital, given its strategic and economic significance. It will connect not only our region, but also geographical areas beyond it, boosting trade," the Turkish president said.

Erdogan also stressed that the corridor should not become a source of tension. "Our main expectation is that this corridor will not become a source of disputes, but will turn into a symbol of cooperation. Thus, the region will become a zone of prosperity where cooperation prevails," he said.

He also noted that the Azerbaijani leadership has a clear interest in implementing the corridor. "The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, attaches great importance to the Zangezur corridor. He wants to prepare it as soon as possible and use it for the benefit of both Azerbaijan and the entire region. I am confident that we will solve this issue together," Erdogan emphasized.
