Israel and Syria agree on ceasefire in Sweida province

Israel and Syria have agreed on a ceasefire in the province of As-Suwayda. This was reported by US Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack on his microblog X.

"Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Syrian President al-Sharaa, with the support of the United States, have agreed on a ceasefire in the province of As-Suwayda, which was welcomed by Turkey, Jordan, and other countries in the Middle East.

We call on all Druze, Bedouin, Sunni, and minorities to lay down their arms and help build a peaceful, united Syria," he wrote.

Recall that earlier in the province of As-Suwayda in Syria, clashes took place between Bedouin militias and Druze armed groups. In response, the Syrian government sent troops, and Israel protected the Druze community and carried out strikes on Damascus.
