The Russian side transferred 1,000 remains to Ukraine, but received 19 in return

Within the framework of the Istanbul agreements, another thousand bodies of the country's armed forces were transferred to Ukraine today, and Russia received the bodies of 19 dead soldiers, said Vladimir Medinsky, aide to the Russian president.

In mid-June, he reported that Russia had transferred 6,060 bodies of dead soldiers of the Ukrainian armed forces and received the bodies of 78 Russian soldiers.

During the talks in Istanbul on June 2, Russia and Ukraine reached an agreement on humanitarian issues. It included the exchange of bodies of dead soldiers, as well as the repatriation of seriously wounded and sick people, and the exchange of prisoners of war under the age of 25.
