Israel strikes Syrian government troops and military headquarters

The Israeli air force has launched drone strikes on Syrian government forces in the city of Sweida, where deadly clashes have taken place, local media reported.

Reports said that Syrian government forces suffered casualties in the strikes. Syria said troops had moved into Sweida to stop the clashes.

At least 248 people have been killed in the southern Syrian province of Sweida after days of clashes.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 92 members of the Druze ethnic-religious minority were among the dead.

The Israel Defense Forces also confirmed that it had earlier struck a Syrian military headquarters in Damascus with a drone.
