Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s administration told RIA Novosti that it was unaware of reports of the US’s intention to take control of the Zangezur Corridor.
“We are not aware of this, so we cannot comment on it,” Erdogan’s administration told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, US Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack said that the United States had offered to take control of the planned transport corridor between Armenia and Azerbaijan in an attempt to advance long-stalled diplomatic talks between the two Caucasian countries.
Nazeli Baghdasaryan, a spokesperson for the Armenian Prime Minister, commented on the issue, noting that Armenia had not discussed outsourcing control of the sovereign territory to a third party.
