We urge the parties to commence signing the peace agreement as soon as possible. EU

The European Union welcomed the meeting of the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Abu Dhabi.

This was stated by the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Anitta Hipper, to the Azerbaijani Report.

According to her, the EU strongly supports the normalization of relations between the two countries.

"Earlier, the European Union welcomed the conclusion of negotiations on the draft agreement on peace and the establishment of interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia in March 2025," she noted, emphasizing that the current meeting is an essential step towards establishing sustainable peace and security in the region.

"We call on both sides to start signing and ratifying the draft peace agreement as soon as possible. The EU stands ready to provide additional support and expertise if the parties request it," Hipper stated.
