The draft law on amendments to the Constitution of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic was submitted for discussion at today's session of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan.
According to the APA, the provision specified in Part III of Article 134 of the Constitution of Azerbaijan, which states that the autonomous republic is an integral part of Azerbaijan, will also be reflected in the preamble to the Constitution of Nakhchivan.
According to the draft, two new articles (3-1 and 28-1) are added to the Constitution of Nakhichevan, and the fifth article is removed altogether.
One of the amendments provided for in the draft constitutional law is the exclusion of the highest official of Nakhichevan from Article 5.
After the discussion, the draft law was put to a vote and adopted in the third reading.
