On July 6, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi on the sidelines of the BRICS summit.
The diplomats discussed bilateral and regional issues, including Iran’s nuclear program. Fidan said Ankara favors a diplomatic solution to all regional crises and is ready to support steps in that direction.
The meeting was held in a constructive atmosphere and was one of the few high-level contacts between Ankara and Tehran in recent months.
