House of Representatives approves Trump's One Big, Beautiful Bill '

Ahead of Independence Day, the House of Representatives has finally approved President Donald Trump’s “Great Big Law,” a sweeping tax and spending bill.

The bill is nearly 900 pages long and includes tax breaks, government spending cuts, and new funding for national defense and the deportation of illegal immigrants. The bill reflects Republicans’ top legislative priorities.

The debate over the bill in Congress was quite lengthy. Democrats unanimously opposed the bill, criticizing it as a social welfare initiative. However, thanks to the Republican Party’s united stance, the bill passed. In the House of Representatives, it received the minimum necessary 218 votes, while 214 congressmen, including all Democrats and two Republicans, voted against it.

The bill’s passage was also accompanied by a complex process in the Senate, where the votes for and against were evenly split. The vote of US Vice President J.D. Vance decided the vote. Earlier, in May, the House of Representatives had already passed the initial version of the bill by one vote, which was later revised by amendments presented in the Senate.

Trump had emphasized that he wanted the bill to take effect by July 4, also known as Independence Day. However, in addition to Democrats, several Republicans also expressed reservations about specific provisions of the law, voicing concerns about its impact on the state budget, healthcare, and several other areas.
