Azerbaijan expected a comprehensive and objective investigation into the law violations by the Russian side. It was also emphasized that Azerbaijan’s position on this issue cannot be considered as interference in Russia’s internal affairs.
The reports of the Russian side regarding the actions carried out at the Sputnik Azerbaijan office were considered unfounded. It was emphasized that these measures were carried out in full accordance with Azerbaijani legislation, and investigative measures are currently ongoing.
Following the incident involving the downing of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane in Russian airspace, Azerbaijan has been demanding from Russia a complete and transparent investigation, the identification and punishment of those responsible, and compensation for the victims. These steps have been seen as crucial to de-escalating the hostile atmosphere in bilateral relations.
