The heatwave affecting France, Spain, and Britain is expected to reach Germany on July 1. The temperature is expected to peak on July 2, with temperatures forecasted to reach 40°C in southern Germany on that day, and 35°C and above in the rest of the country.

In the Spanish city of El Granado, near the border with Portugal, the mercury reached +46°C on June 30. This is a record temperature for the first summer month in Spain, dating back to the entire history of observations. A red alert has been issued in several regions of the country, prompting people to avoid the streets in the afternoon.

A red alert will be issued in Paris and 15 other French departments due to the heatwave.
