Moscow considers Baku's actions deliberate and unfriendly

A note of protest was handed over to the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Moscow, Rakhman Mustafayev, demanding the immediate release of Russian journalists detained in Baku. This is stated in the Russian Foreign Ministry's statement.

"On July 1, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia, Rakhman Mustafayev, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry. During a meeting with Deputy Minister Mikhail Galuzin, the ambassador was presented with a complaint regarding Baku's unfriendly actions and deliberate steps by the Azerbaijani side to undermine bilateral relations," the ministry noted.

"A note was handed over to the head of the Azerbaijani diplomatic mission demanding the immediate release of Russian journalists Igor Kartavikh and Yevgeny Belousov, detained in Baku," the ministry noted.

Baku's attempts to accuse Russian law enforcement agencies of abuse of power are an interference in Russia's internal affairs, the Foreign Ministry emphasized.
