A search is underway at the office of the Russian agency "Sputnik-Azerbaijan" in Baku, according to Azerbaijani Vesti.az.
The country's Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed this. The police have taken control of the office.
Earlier, "Sputnik-Azerbaijan" had officially suspended its activities; however, the agency continued to operate.
The search of the office of "Sputnik-Azerbaijan" is taking place against the backdrop of aggravation of relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, which arose after mass arrests in Yekaterinburg. Representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora are being persecuted.
