French President Emmanuel Macron spoke by phone with Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian about the need to resume the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission in Iran.
“Today, I had another phone conversation with the Iranian president. I urged him to adhere to the framework of the Non-Proliferation Treaty and to resume the IAEA’s work in Iran as soon as possible to ensure the necessary transparency of the nuclear program,” the French leader wrote in X.
He also called on Pezeshkian to return to the negotiating table “to resolve issues related to Iran’s nuclear and ballistic programs.” In addition, Macron stressed “the need to respect the ceasefire.”
