The Ukrainian president has signed an agreement with the Council of Europe to set up a special tribunal to try high-ranking officials for Russia’s invasion. It was Zelensky’s first visit to the human rights body in France since the conflict began. After meeting with Trump, Zelensky called for closer ties between Europe and the US president at the Council of Europe’s Parliamentary Assembly. “We need close ties with Trump,” Zelensky said. “We need unity between Europe and the United States, and we will win,” he added, emphasizing, “First of all, we need unity in Europe.”He called for a trial against Russian President Putin.
