Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian spoke by phone with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, saying he was ready to meet with him as soon as possible.
The Iranian leader also assured that Tehran's attacks on the US base in Qatar do not mean the beginning of a confrontation with the emirate.
"The Iranian government and people are fully aware of Qatar's friendly and brotherly intentions and position towards them, and they are deeply grateful for all the support, sympathy, and accompaniment shown to the Qatari government and people, especially in difficult times," Pezeshkian said.
