The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in response to the Armenian Foreign Ministry's statement that Armenia's claims about peace are incompatible with its actions.
"Azerbaijan has always supported the conclusion of a comprehensive peace agreement based on mutual respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty; Armenia has repeatedly hindered progress by demonstrating an unconstructive position on important issues.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation's call for Armenia to immediately remove obstacles to the signing of a peace agreement coincides with the international community's expectations for a solution that ensures stability in the South Caucasus.
Armenia's attempts to politicize the OIC's principled position and evade responsibility for its actions will not prevent Azerbaijan from striving for a just and sustainable peace. We call on Armenia to abandon its rhetoric and accept historical responsibility," the statement said.
